Derived from the sap of various types of palm trees, Palm Wine is a common alcholoic beverage in parts of Africa (Nigeria, Seychelles, South Africa, DRC, Ghana, Sierra Leone, etc) and Asia as well, and is known by many names.

In many of these societies, it forms a key role in many social gatherings.
